SPRI holds a vast collection of images and documents relating to the study of polar environments, and they have now digitised over 20,000 photographic negatives in order to both conserve and share these unique pictures. Dating from 1845 to 1982, the images tell a fascinating story of polar exploration over the years, supported by excerpts from journals and reports.
Discover the World are proud to support SPRI's research into global warming and are currently funding substantial aspects of the Eurasian Arctic: Melting Ice project.
