I normally start the day with a good strong cup of coffee, which I think will probably be accompanied by a penguin in future. Not the chocolate biscuit sort you understand, but one courtesy of the British Antarctic Survey. Their website brings you the 'Penguin of the Day' as well as a 'Picture of the Day'. You can even rate their images... For those of you who long for the white continent, this may just set you up for the day ahead!

Hi Natalie. You may like to contact the Scott Polar Research Institute with your request. They run workshops for little ones from their museum in Cambridge, looking at the polar regions and penguins in particular. See http://www.spri.cam.ac.uk/museum/schoolvisits.html#contacts for further information. Another possibility is the British Antarctic Survey - http://www.bas.ac.uk/. Good luck, and I hope your students enjoy learning about penguins and all things Antarctic! Nikki

I teach a penguin unit to Pre-Kindergarten children and I was hoping to video conference or have a question/answer session with someone who not only knows penguins but understands young children. Do you have any ideas?
