UKTV Documentary are featuring a 'Polar Season' from 5 March 2006 for three weeks. That's another reason (aside from the stormy wet weather) to stay curled up inside with a warm mug of tea! I'm dipping in and out of their website where they have polar picture galleries, as well as polar wildlife factsheets and even an interactive polar timeline, essential for swotting up on the history of explorers efforts to conquer the extreme ends of the world. You can even read an interview with a real Arctic explorer, and find out if you could survive in the coldest, windiest and arguably the most beautiful places on earth.
Discover the World are running a competition in conjunction with UKTV to win a stay at the Icehotel in Swedish Lapland - why not enter here..... Or if you fancy exploring the Arctic or Antarctic yourself onboard a small ship expedition voyage, then visit our website to start planning your adventure.

I love looking at blogs from unusiual locations! This is a great one!
